JC virus (JCV) is a human neurotropic polyomavirus that is the etiologic agent of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML).
Tests generally appear in the order most useful for common clinical situations
Test name: Cell Count, CSF
ARUP #: 0095018
Methodology: Cell Count/Differential
Use: Evaluate white blood cell count and differential in suspected infectious meningitis/encephalitis
Limitations: Findings not specific for JCV infections
